thousand miles from the mainland, Sbarro and Gap and the Disney Store are just a bus ride away.)

Off the main strip at Waikiki, just a few blocks inland, we found a decidedly untouristy playground.

Hana was confused by the street performer: “Is it a man, or is it a toy?” (She doesn’t know the word “statue” yet.)
If this were a video, it would show the pedestrian traffic moving through, while Hana and the Silver Man stayed
totally still.
